NRES 643 - Sustainable Social-Ecological Systems


Description:
Examine the energy challenges facing communities in different regions of the U.S. in this field-based course. Utilize a systems approach to assess these challenges within the complex social-ecological systems in which they are embedded. Employ a transdisciplinary approach to problem solving by integrating knowledge and perspectives from different disciplines and a diverse array of stakeholders; creating new shared knowledge and perspectives; formulating strategies to alter current undesirable trajectories in these social-ecological systems; and creating more sustainable futures for these systems.

Prerequisites:
NRES 541  or cons instr.
