HIST 311 - Africa and the Indian Ocean World


Description:
This course traces the historical relations of coastal Africa and other regions of the Indian Ocean World, particularly the Arabian Peninsula and South Asia. It considers trade relations, cultural fusion, formation of new identities, and languages, the slave trade, and the emergence of diasporic communities in the Indian Ocean World.
