MUS 321 - Musicology III Description: A critical examination of early music in which you examine the precursors to standard, common-practice notation and subsequent developments through the mid-eighteenth century. A major emphasis will be on interacting with primary source materials and artifacts in order to understand and synthesize contemporaneous developments of music and its social function. Available for graduate credit as MUS 521 .
