PHYS 115 - Acoustics Description: Interdisciplinary introduction to the principles of acoustics integrating information from physics and communication sciences and disorders. Topics include waves, sound, speech, hearing, resonance, harmonics, analysis and synthesis of sounds. Applications to speech production and music/musical instruments. Does not count toward physics requirements of natural science major. 3 hrs lec, 2 hrs lab per wk.
Prerequisites: Sophomore standing required, and MATH 107 or suitable placement score
