BIOL 320 - Molecular Biology Description: Mechanisms that control the maintenance, expression, and evolution of genomes. Some topics include DNA, RNA and protein structure, DNA replication, mutation and repair, transcription and modifications, and gene structure, function and regulation. Theory and application of molecular techniques. Labs include DNA purification, electrophoresis, PCR, restriction digestion, sequence analysis, and gene cloning. Available for graduate credit as BIOL 520 .
Prerequisites: BIOL 210 ; and either CHEM 221 and CHEM 222 or CHEM 325
