BIOL 384 - Introduction to Aquaponics Description: Biological system designs, production techniques and methods for the integrated science of aquaponics, the combination of aquaculture (fish culture) and hydroponics (soilless plant culture). Foundational knowledge of aquaponic food production, crop selection, good agriculture & best management practices, and economics & marketing.
Prerequisites: BIOL 101 or BIOL 130 and BIOL 160 ; or cons instr.
2 hrs lec per wk, 18 total hrs lab. May not earn credit in both BIOL 380 /BIOL 580 and BIOL 384/BIOL 584
3 cr.
Available for graduate credit as BIOL 584 .
