This minor is required of early childhood education majors for initial certification. If you have completed initial certification in early childhood, elementary or special education, you may add this license after graduation.

Major Certification Program

Complete a major certification program in elementary, special, or early childhood education.

Required

EDUC 365 - Assessment and Intervention Strategies for Infants and Toddlers with Disabilities and Their Families 3 cr.
EDUC 366 - Assessment/Intervention Strategies for Preschool Children with Disabilities and Their Families 3 cr.
EDUC 367 - Assessment and Intervention Strategies for Children with Disabilities in the Primary Grades and Their Families 3 cr.
EDUC 378 - Parent, Home and Agency Involvement in Educating Children and Youth with Disabilities 3 cr. (ECED majors do not need EDUC 378)
EDUC 398 - Student Teaching 1-16 cr.
EDUC 400 - Student Teaching Seminar 1-2 cr.

State-Mandated Tests

Pass the state-mandated content test and reading test.

Enrollment cap: 25 students admitted per year.
