This major is administered by the Department of Art & Design .
The Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) is the professional arts degree, with a focus on intensive work in art and design, supported by a program in general studies. The BFA program prepares students for professional careers in the visual arts. In accordance with the standards of the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD), the major consists of 80 credits in the Department of Art & Design, as follows:

Consists of 12 credits for all art programs:
Art History Foundation, 6 credits
Consists of 6 credits of 100-level art history, for all art programs. Choose from:

Studio art courses, 48 credits
Additional Courses
Choose remaining credits from:
3-D and GD courses, 9 credits
At least 6 credits must be in 3-D.
3-D courses
Choose at least 6 credits from any of the courses listed in the 3-D emphasis .
BFA Portfolio Review
BFA majors must also pass the BFA Portfolio Review, as specified here .
