This minor is administered by the Department of History and International Studies .

The International Studies Minor satisfies the Interdisciplinary Studies GEP requirement. For more information, see the GEP section of the catalog.

Consists of 24 credits plus world language requirement.

Foundational courses, 9 credits

HIST 101 - World History to 1500 3 cr. or
HIST 102 - World History Since 1500 3 cr.
GEOG 115 - World Regional Geography 3 cr. or
GEOG 120 - Human Geography 3 cr. or
INTL 150 - Humanity and the Global Environment 3 cr.
POLI 160 - Comparative Politics 3 cr. or
POLI 180 - Introduction to Global Affairs 3 cr.

Language requirement, 0-12 credits

Native Language is English

If your native language is English, you must complete or test out of two semesters of college level world language.

Native Language is Not English

If your native language is not English, then you may use English to fulfill your international studies language requirement, by completing

ENGL 202 - Sophomore English 3 cr. or
ENGL 150 - Advanced Freshman English 3 cr.

Areas of Concentration, 12 credits

Take 12 credits from one of the areas of concentration, or Global Studies, listed within the International Studies, B.A. major. Six credits must be in courses numbered 300 and above.

Communication Seminar, 3 credits
