This major is administered by the Department of Music .
Consists of 86-88 credits.
Admitted by audition only. Your performance proficiency will be reviewed at the end of your freshman year for permission to continue. In your first semester, with your applied teacher’s approval, you may audition to enter the performance degree program in the second semester of the freshman year. You must complete MUS 246 or Level 100 of applied piano and complete the 400 level of study in voice. You must perform a half recital in your junior year in voice and give a senior recital. The senior recital (MUS 498 ), taken in conjunction with 400-level applied lessons, satisfies the Capstone Experience requirement.

Music literature and history, 12 credits
Large ensemble, 8 credits

If you’re seeking a B.M. in Vocal Performance you may choose to take either (1) two semesters of one language (French or German), or (2) one semester of each language (French and German). You may also verify proficiency in these languages through credit by examination. Contact the Department of World Languages and Literatures for testing times at the beginning of each term.
