This major is administered by the Department of Music .
Consistsof 78-80 credits.
Admitted by audition only. Your performance proficiency will be reviewed at the end of your freshman year for permission to continue. In your first semester, with your applied teacher’s approval, you may audition to enter the performance degree program in the second semester of the freshman year. You must complete MUS 246 or Level 100 of applied piano and complete the 400-level of study in your major instrument. You must perform a half recital in your junior year in your major instrument and give a senior recital. The senior recital (MUS 498 ), taken in conjunction with 400-level applied lessons, satisfies the Capstone Experience requirement.

Music literature and history, 12 credits
