This certificate is administered by the School of Education .

The Mentoring Certificate provides an opportunity for the advancement of leadership skills through the study of mentoring theory, mentoring research, and mentoring techniques and the application of this knowledge to a mentoring practicum experience.

This certificate requires 9 credits. The mentoring courses should be taken in sequence, but the additional credit electives can be taken at any time.

Required Courses, 6 credits

EDUC 145 - Introduction to Mentoring 3 cr.
EDUC 245 - Appreciative Mentoring 1 cr.
EDUC 345 - Leadership and Transition in Mentoring 1 cr.
EDUC 445 - Culminating Experience in Mentoring 1 cr.

3 credits from the following courses:

COAC 190 - Foundations of Coaching and Leadership 3 cr.
EDUC 301 - Post-Secondary Learning Theory and Practice 1-3 cr. (must be taken for 3 cr.)
PSYC 110 - Introduction to Psychology 3 cr.
