This graduate certificate is administered by the Department of Computing and New Media Technologies - Graduate Program . It is offered through the established collaborative online M.S. in Data Science Program.
The Graduate Certificate in Data Science represents an in-program certificate and credential within the existing and well-established MS in Data Science (MS-DS) program. The certificate program is offered as a fully online, asynchronous curriculum comprised of five existing foundational courses (15 credits) within the MS-DS curriculum. The program serves as an additional and early credential for in-program (i.e. MS-DS degree-seeking students) as well as a freestanding certificate program for non-degree (i.e. certificate-only) students who may or may not elect to pursue the full MS-DS degree following completion of the certificate. Following the collaborative model, students select and enroll at a home campus from which they will receive full academic support and the certificate is conferred. Academic advising will be provided by the designated MS-DS academic director at each institution. Admission requirements for the Graduate Certificate in Data Science program include a Bachelo’s degee and a 3.0 undergraduate GPA. Program prerequisites include coursework in elementary statistics, introductory computer programming, and introduction to databases. Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of this coursework.
Consists of 15 credits
