The Music Theory Graduate Certificate is open to you if you are majoring in a graduate music degree.

The certificate is administered by the Department of School of Performing Arts Music Graduate Program .

Consists of 12 credits.

Choose at least 12 credits from the following:

MUED 651 - Pedagogy of Rhythm 3 cr.
MUS 515 - Orchestration 2 cr.
MUS 516 - Choral Arranging 3 cr.
MUS 592 - Analytical History of Jazz Improvisation 2 cr.
MUS 712 - Form and Analysis 3 cr.
MUS 713 - Schenkerian Analysis and Tonal Form 3 cr.
MUS 615 - Contemporary Music Theory for Music Teachers 3 cr.
MUS 640 - Pedagogy of Music Theory 3 cr.
MUS 655 - Analysis, Interpretation, and Performance 3 cr.
MUS 779 - Artist Course in Applied Music - Composition 2 or 4 cr. (a maximum of 4 credits may be applied to the Music Theory Graduate Certificate)
