This certificate is administered by the area of Music in the School of Performing Arts .

It is only open to students admitted to the Music Education, BM major. It consists of 17 credits.

MUED 326 - Secondary School Instrumental Music Teaching Techniques Credits: 2
MUS 150 - Choral Music Instruction for Instrumentalists Credits: 1
MUS 152 - Instrumental Methods: Single Reeds Credits: 2
MUS 153 - Instrumental Methods: Violin, Viola, Cello, and String Bass Credits: 2
MUS 155 - Instrumental Methods: Percussion Credits: 2
MUS 156 - Instrumental Methods: Brass Credits: 2
MUS 157 - Instrumental Methods: Double Reeds and Flute Credits: 2
MUS 395 - Advanced Instrumental Conducting Credits: 2

Note:

If voice is your primary major instrument, completion of applied music study up to the 200-level in percussion, piano, guitar, or on a string or wind instrument, is required.
