Theatre Arts: Drama - Acting Concentration, BFA

This major is administered by the area of Theatre  in the School of Performing Arts .

Choose this option if you wish to pursue intensive training in acting in order to become a theatre professional.

Program Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the BFA Acting Program, you will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate a significant knowledge of conventions, historical and contemporary perspectives, and cultural practices in theatre.
  2. Analyze artistic works and employ discipline-specific tasks in preparing for performance.
  3. Utilize discipline-specific skills required in performing various roles.
  4. Demonstrate professionalism by effectively communicating and collaborating with others and adhering to professional practices and standards in the field.
  5. Evaluate preparation and performance critically and/or positively for the purpose of refining your own creative process.


Consists of 80 credits.

Electives, 12 credits


Electives may be taken from any DNCE or THEA course not taken above, or other courses approved by your adviser.

Practicum, 6 credits
