Program Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the Family and Consumer Sciences Program, you will be able to: 

  1. Explain how best practices are developed based on the existing body of research evidence
  2. Develop and evaluate effective health and human development programs
  3. Recognize personal biases and explain the value of multiple perspectives and suspending judgment when interacting with others
  4. Demonstrate confidence and competence in a professional setting

 

Consists of a minimum of 64 credits.

Note: Required courses marked ** below have Math prerequisites. Depending on your placement score, additional courses may be required.

To graduate with a comprehensive Family and Consumer Sciences Major-Teacher Certification option, all teacher certification requirements including student teaching in Family and Consumer Sciences education are required.
