Physics Minor

This minor is administered by the Department of Physics and Astronomy .

When you decide to minor in physics, register in the department office to be assured of proper advising. To be retained and approved for graduation as a minor, you must have a minimum grade point average of 2.00 in all courses in the minor, regardless of a declaration of academic forgiveness. No more than one grade below C- in physics courses numbered 300 or above may be applied to the minor.

Consists of 39 credits.

Note: Required courses marked ** below have Math prerequisites. Depending on your placement score, additional courses may be required.

Electives


Choose from other physics courses numbered above 300 not including PHYS 390  and PHYS 490 . At least one course must include a laboratory.

Mathematics, 14 credits


Note


If you are entering a teaching field, you may select ASTR 311  as an elective. A minor in physics is certifiable for teaching only when accompanied by a major in another science or a major in mathematics.
