Program Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the Doctorate in Educational Sustainability degree, you will be able to: 

  1. Articulately position your research within the context of the philosophical and theoretical underpinnings of educational sustainability.  
  2. Integrate content knowledge and research skills into designing research questions that address a real-world sustainability problem.  
  3. Critically synthesize literature and research from multiple sources, including primary scientific literature, place-based knowledge, and culturally sensitive/relevant knowledge.  
  4. Clearly present your research findings to your peers, experts, and your broader target audience.  

Three year program consisting of 54 credits.

Required Research, Scholar, & Practitioner Courses: (21 credits)


Electives: (15 credits)


  • Any 700-level course (up to 6 credits can be applied without prior approval from the program director)
  • Any 900-level EDSU course

Note


For EDSU 920 , only 3 additional credits may count towards Electives beyond the 6 credits  required for the Research, Scholar, and Practitioner section

Graduation Requirement


  • Student has met the 54-credit requirement, satisfying the core, research and Elective categories.
  • Students must successfully defend their dissertation.
