Administered by the area of Family and Consumer Science in the School of Health Sciences and Wellness .
The Family Adversity and Adaptation Certificate allows you to become conversant in challenges facing individuals and families today as well as strategies and techniques to deal with that stress in healthy ways. Infused with principles and strategies from validated models such as Adverse Childhood Experiences - ACEs, Trauma Informed Care - TIC, and Mental Health First Aid. Individuals from any background are invited to complete the certificate which is an asset for those working with individuals and families in a variety of professions such as education, nursing, counseling, social work, and more.
Consists of 15 credits.
