This major is administered by the area of Theatre in the School of Performing Arts .
Choose this option if you wish to pursue intensive training in design/technology in order to become a theatre professional.
Program Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the BFA Acting Program, you will be able to:
- Project yourself believably in word and action into imaginary circumstances, evoked from text or improvisation.
- Analyze and employ the specific tasks required in creating and performing various characters.
- Use the body as an instrument in characterization and project a resonant voice with skillful, adaptive speech in theatre spaces of varying sizes and in different media.
- Practice the basic business procedures of the actor’s profession, including audition techniques, resumes, rehearsal etiquette and professional communication.
- Evaluate live dramatic performances critically and positively for the purpose of refining your own creative process.
Consists of 78 credits.
