This major is administered by the Human Dimensions of Natural Resource Management  Discipline.

Program Learning Outcomes

As a graduate of a Resource Management Program, you will be able to:  

  1. Effectively communicate with your public(s)
  2. Demonstrate environmental awareness/literacy
  3. Exhibit professional development skills relevant to your particular major option
  4. Read, interpret, and analyze social science research in natural resource management
  5. Explain the role of leadership, administration, and evaluation for natural resource agencies and organizations
  6. Develop confidence in the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform as a professional in your chosen option within Human Dimensions of Natural Resource Management.


Consists of 96-104 credits.

Note: Required courses marked ** below have Math prerequisites. Depending on your placement score, additional courses may be required.

Resource Management Core, 33-34 credits


Environmental Science and Management Option, 63-70 credits


Foundational Sciences, 13-19 credits


Natural Sciences, 12 credits


Take 12 credits from at least two of the following disciplines:

Social Sciences, 9 credits


Take 9 credits from at least two of the following disciplines:

Electives, 6 credits


Take any 300- or 400-level courses from COLLEGE OF NATURAL RESOURCES  disciplines.
