Program Requirements


  • You must have completed a bachelor’s degree. 
  • You must meet a minimum overall GPA of 3.0. If you do not meet this minimum, you must take the Praxis Subject Assessment in your area.   
  • You must take the Wisconsin Foundations of Reading Test and pass with a minimum score of 240. If you hold a lifetime license, you are exempt from this requirement.  
  • You must meet the state teacher licensing rules which are subject to change at any time due to legislative or licensing changes. 

Pathways


  1. Accelerated Certification in Elementary Education (ACEE) - This pathway is designed for you if you are looking to complete your initial teaching license in elementary education. This pathway can be combined with the master’s in education
  2. Elementary and Middle School K-9 Add-On - This approved license allows a teacher to teach 4-year old kindergarten through 9th grade. This program is only available for teachers already licensed to teach MC-EA ages 6-13 “Regular Education,” EC-MC ages 0-11 “Regular Education,” or grades 1-6, 1-8, K-6 or K-8.
