This major is administered by the area of Economics in the Sentry School of Business and Economics .
In the economics major, you complete courses in core economic content and methodology, as well as courses in basic mathematical techniques and advanced economic statistics. Upon completing the economics major, you will be prepared to work in economics and the business world.
Program Learning Outcomes
Evidence of Business Economics graduates’ level of preparation will be found in your ability to:
- Analyze and solve business and economics problems
- you will be able to apply core concepts, models, and methods from business, accounting, and economics in identifying and solving problems
- Demonstrate the intercultural competencies necessary to thrive in an increasingly global marketplace
- you will be able integrate global perspectives and competencies in business interactions

- you will be able to recognize and analyze an ethical dilemma, applying an appropriate ethical framework

- Absorb concepts in areas of core business knowledge
- demonstrate literacy in accounting, economics, marketing, management, production, finance, information systems, and business law

Successfully complete a minimum of 76-79 credits with a cumulative GPA of 2.50 or higher.
