Timber Marking Certificate

This certificate is administered by the Forestry Discipline.

The Timber Marking Certificate is intended to provide accelerated training for you to enter the workforce prepared to mark timber to reach a range of landowner goals. The main categories of training goals include: basic northern hardwood marking, marking for timber quality improvement, marking for wildlife habitat improvement, and marking for restoration of functions/processes.

Consists of a minimum of 30 credits.

BIOL 130 - Introduction to Plant Biology Credits: 5
FOR 232 - Dendrology and Silvics Credits: 3
FOR 322 - Forest Mensuration Credits: 3
FOR 332 - Forest Ecosystem Ecology Credits: 3
FOR 370 - Forest Products I Credits: 2
FOR 432 - Silviculture Credits: 3
FOR 434 - Field Practices in Silviculture Credits: 1-3 (Take 3 credits by completing one or more subtitles)
FOR 436 - Managing Non-industrial Private Forests Credits: 2

One of the following:
