This minor is administered by the Department of World Languages and Literatures .

Consists of a minimum of 18 credits.

Fundamental Language Courses, 0-16 credits (dependent on language placement)

GERM 101 - First Semester German Credits: 4
GERM 102 - Second Semester German Credits: 4
GERM 211 - Third Semester German Credits: 4
GERM 212 - Fourth Semester German Credits: 4

Required Core, 12 credits

FLNG 250 - Introduction to World Languages Credits: 3
GERM 313 - Developing Speaking Proficiency Credits: 3
GERM 314 - Developing Writing Proficiency Credits: 3
GERM 315 - Developing Reading Proficiency Credits: 3

Electives, 6 credits

3-6 additional credits of 300-400 level German course(s) taken at UWSP and/or one of our approved study-abroad programs

3 credits may be from one of the following:

FLNG 251 - Humanities in World Cultures Credits: 3
FLNG 252 - Media Arts in World Cultures Credits: 3

Other Requirements

Global Seal of Biliteracy: Apply, test, and receive the certification from the Global Seal of Biliteracy and provide a copy of the certification to the Department of World Languages and Literatures (if not previously obtained).
