Spanish Minor

This minor is administered by the Department of World Languages and Literatures .

Consists of a minimum of 18 credits.

Fundamental Language Courses, 0-16 credits (dependent on language placement)

SPAN 101 - First Semester Spanish Credits: 4
SPAN 102 - Second Semester Spanish Credits: 4
SPAN 211 - Third Semester Spanish Credits: 4
SPAN 212 - Fourth Semester Spanish Credits: 4

Required Core, 12 credits

FLNG 250 - Introduction to World Languages Credits: 3
SPAN 313 - Developing Speaking Proficiency Credits: 3
SPAN 314 - Developing Writing Proficiency Credits: 3
SPAN 315 - Developing Reading Proficiency Credits: 3

Electives, 6 credits

6 additional credits of 300-400 level Spanish course(s) taken at UWSP and/or one of our approved study-abroad programs.

Other Requirements

Global Seal of Biliteracy: Apply, test, and receive the certification from the Global Seal of Biliteracy and provide a copy of the certification to the Department of World Languages and Literatures (if not previously obtained).
