    This course will provide an introduction to the analytical theories and methodologies of Heinrich Schenker. Through rigorous analysis of tonal repertoire, essay readings, and careful study of Schenker’s writing, students will be able to apply Schenkarian concepts to relevant contexts. They will also become familiar with standard musical forms, including binary, ternary, rondo, and sonata form.
