MUS 415 - Contemporary Music Theory for Music Teachers Description: Fundamentals of jazz and pop music theory including lead sheet symbols, jazz nomenclature, functional keyboard skills in contemporary and jazz styles, score analysis of jazz and contemporary music, arranging techniques for contemporary and jazz styles, and basic improvisation techniques. Available for graduate credit as MUS 615 .
Prerequisites: All of the following: MUS 210 , MUS 212 , and MUS 310 ; or Instructor Consent
