Health Promotion and Wellness, BS

This major is administered by the area of Health Sciences and Wellness  in the School of Health Sciences and Wellness .

Program Learning Outcomes

As a graduate of the Health Promotion and Wellness, BS you will be able to: 

  1. Explain how best practices are developed based on the existing body of research evidence
  2. Develop and evaluate effective health and human development programs
  3. Describe the importance of community involvement in local programs, organizations and events
  4. Recognize personal biases and explain the value of multiple perspectives and suspending judgment when interacting with others
  5. Demonstrate confidence and competence in a professional setting


Consists of a minimum of 83 credits.

Premajor requirements, 38-43 credits


These courses may be taken before being “fully” accepted as an HPW major.

Major requirements, 45 credits


Note


If you are not “fully” accepted into the major, you will not be allowed to take 300 and 400-level HPW courses.

HPW 110  and HPW 450  are offered as pass/fail only. You must maintain a 2.50 cumulative GPA through graduation.
