Academic Program
Complete the following:
Clinical Practicum
As an ATP student you must complete clinical rotations as a requirement of the practicum courses (AT 201 , AT 300 , AT 301 , AT 302 , AT 400 , and AT 401 ). You will gain clinical experience in the following settings or activities:
- UW-Stevens Point Athletic training facility.
- Clinical/high school/industrial.
- Lower extremity intensive.
- Upper extremity intensive.
- Equipment intensive.
- General medical.
Clinical Rotations
Throughout the 6 semester curriculum program, you will be required to complete clinical education rotations each semester. The time commitment for each semester varies as you go through the AT program and will get longer as you learn more clinical skills within the coursework. The clinical hours required for students are 112-168 hours per semester during the 1st year; 182-210 hours per semester during the 2nd year; and 224-280 hours per semester the final year. Students will be given at least one day off each seven-day period. All clinical hours will be under direct supervision of a clinical preceptor.
