Dance Major (BA)

As a student graduating with a major in Dance from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, you will be able to:

1. Demonstrate, explore, and embody full physical expression

2. Achieve anatomical efficiency and employ optimal anatomical alignment to support injury-free dancing

3. Explore and experiment within artistic processes in order to develop a personal approach to dance making

4. Cultivate contemporary inquiry that is culturally relevant and historically grounded:

a. recognize important people, artistic works, and ideas that have contribute(d) to the historical, current, and cultural perspectives of dance

b. discuss and employ current theoretical approaches to contemporary thinking in dance

c. articulate an individual point of view about trends and perspectives in the global dance field

d. interpret, analyze, and critically appraise a variety of artistic work within a historical/cultural context

5. Communicate, contribute and lead as a global citizen artist
