About this Program
The community nutrition option will prepare you to develop programs and work with the public on issues related to food, nutrition, agriculture, sustainability, and health as a nutritionist or food & nutrition educator. You will address the nutritional needs and preventable diet-related health conditions, working primarily within communities, research or businesses to ensure meaningful connections among regional food economies, community organizations, public health, and wellness initiatives. Students will develop professional competencies in critical thinking, problem solving, inter-cultural knowledge, tolerance and respect, systems thinking, and community development.
