Description: The Second Language Acquisition Graduate Certificate is ideal for those seeking to pursue an Add-on Certification in ESL. This certificate consists of 3 courses plus a practicum for a total of 10 credits. Each of the courses in our program are aligned with DPI’s content standards and help to expedite Add-on Certification in ESL.

This certificate by itself does not necessarily cover all requirements for the ESL Add-on Certification. It is designed to offer the most common courses needed by teachers pursuing ESL Add-on Certification. Additional requirements may include courses in World Languages, Minority Cultures, or English Literature. A transcript evaluation of previous coursework should be requested by interested teachers.
